33 Weeks!!!

33 Weeks!
My dropped Belly!
Baby Journal Update:
Your baby is a little over 17 inches long and weighs around 4-1/2 pounds, for another half-pound gain in a single week. His larger size doesn't allow for his previous acrobatic maneuvers-there's simply no room. Instead, movements now tend to consist mostly of nudges, kicks, or jabs.
Many babies already settle into a head-down position, the ideal position for birth. Some, especially smaller babies, continue to rotate for a few weeks more.
Now for my update: I'm feeling about the same. I'm still having a lot of braxton hicks contractions along with some real one's. I'm still taking my brethane on days when they are really bad. My doctor's office called today to let me know my urine culture came back normal this time! I was very happy to hear this, but now realize that the pain I'm feeling and the blood in my urine is from my interstitial cystitis. I will continue to take an antibiotic every night to prevent another infection. I'm hoping this gives me some relief. I'm going to post some belly pictures where I think it's pretty obvious that Baylor has dropped. I think they may be why my heartburn seems to better than it was. I probably shouldn't say that or I'm going to jinx myself. I think that is all the updates for me right now. I will of course let you know how my appointment on Tuesday goes. I'm praying this boy stays put for at least 3 more weeks!

Baylor's soft bear mat!

Today some of the women at OB/GYN Associates where my mom works (and Dr. D) threw me a little Baby Shower at Ixtapa. I had so much fun. These ladies are always so thoughtful. They did the same thing for me when Jonathan and I were getting married. We had some good food, cake, and we got a lot of nice gifts. I don't have as many pictures as I usually do but some of our gifts were, 2 sets of the 3 Martha's hooded towel sets, Sterling Silver Engraved Pacifier Clip, Dr. Brown Bottles, Bath Tub, Drying Station, Crib Light, Bama car seat/stroller toy and bib (Jonathan of course loved these two things), soft Bear Mat, Auburn outfit, and some more fun things. Thank you to all the ladies who came and made today so special.

32 Week OB Appointment!

Today Jonathan and I headed back to the doctor for my 32 Week appt. The first thing we talked about was my urinary issues. I've been hurting again and it turns out my urinalysis showed a lot of blood in my urine. They are going to send out ANOTHER culture to see if I have another infection. I'm pretty sure I do. I just took a round of meds 2 weeks ago for the same thing so I know what a UTI feels like. The blood may be caused by Baylor sitting on bladder (more on that in a minute.) I have interstitial cystitis which I was diagnosed with several years ago. It's a lot of inflammation around the bladder so this could be acting up due to the pressure on my bladder and making it bleed more. I should have the results of my culture at the end of the week or next Monday. For now I'm going to go ahead and start taking another urinary med every night.

The next thing we discussed were my contractions. These have become more frequent and painful. Dr. D said they could be worse if I have another UTI. I have also started having a little pressure so he thought it was a good idea for him to go ahead and check me. They usually don't begin to check to see if your dilated until your first 1 week appt at 36 weeks, but he wanted to make sure my contractions were not making me dilate early. The good news is I have not dilated, but Baylor has already dropped! We were all pretty surprised this happend so early. He said if it wasn't my first pregnancy he wouldn't be as surprised. He will continue to check me from now on. Jonathan asked if this meant Baylor might be arriving early and he said it's puts me at a higher risk, but he doesn't think it will happen right away. He just said eventually when you have a brick sitting on Styrofoam it eventually gets weaker and weaker and that is what happens to the cervix. With Baylor already so low he could be causing my bladder to bleed more and making my urinary problems worse. He said I could try one of the pregnancy belts to try and support my belly since it's so low now,but he thinks that will backfire putting more pressure on my bladder and to get off my feet. I never expected going in there today to 1. get checked 2. find out Baylor has already dropped 3. be told it's probably best to go ahead and get off my feet (he did not say strict bedrest.)

The rest of the appt was pretty boring. BP was a little higher 141/74 (top number was elevated), but the nurse said it could have been bc we were talking. I gained 2 lbs which puts me at 13 lbs total. I think that is about it. I will now have a weekly doctor report.

Now it's time to get everything done before Baylor arrives!

Baylor's Crib!

Getting Started!

Hank trying to help his daddy!

Riley wants to help too!

Almost done. Riley thinks that was hard work!

The Boys!

Their done!

Baylor's crib is finally put together. Baylor's Uncle Tab came over and helped Jonathan put it together. While they worked on the crib me and Riley played with the boxes. We built a house and then colored all over them. That was until Riley drew all overhimself with a permanent marker. I know I should've taken a picures, but my main concern was getting it washed off. I was so afraid we were going to have to scrub him for hours. Luckily Tab got most of off pretty fast. The nursery should finally start to come together and I will continue to post pictures as we go along!

Friday Night Jonathan and I had our 2nd Baby Shower. It was a Couple's BBQ that had a Auburn/Alabama Tailgate theme. 7 couple's that we have been good friends with for years hosted the shower for us. We had a such a great time! Everything was perfect from the food, to the decorations, and the good company! Baylor got some of the cutest gifts too! We can't thank the Hostess enough for everything they did for us to make that night so special. Now we can't wait for Baylor to arrive so he can meet all of our sweet friends!
Enjoy the pictures. I posted a few of his monogrammed gifts individually. I LOVE a monogram. I just think it's so sweet.
Stayed tuned for a pictures of the crib! I will either post those tonight or sometime tomorrow.

32 Weeks!!!

Your baby has probably gained a half pound in the last week alone, for a total of around 4 pounds. The skin looks smoother and less red while growing and filling out. Along with storing some fat, he is building up a good supply of protein, calcium, iron, and other nutrients.

Now for my update- I am having more and more contractions. They are getting more intense and frequent. I think my belly has grown a lot just over the last week. I guess I'm going to really notice my belly changing fast now. I'm still pretty fatigue, but have had a tendency to want to nest some this week. I think that is all I'm really noticing right now.

I go back to see Dr. D for my OB appt on Tuesday morning. I think it is one of my last 2, 2 week appts and then I start going weekly and he will start checking me!

27th Birthday!

My Pretty Flowers from my Office!

Me (8 mos preggo) and my sick Hubby!

Riley!

Tab and Meribeth!

Yesterday I celebrated my 27th Birthday. Wow- that is weird to say! I had a good day. My office sent me a pretty fall arrangement which I thought was so sweet of them. Last night me and Jonathan went to dinner with my mom, Tab, Meribeth, Riley, and Grayden. This was the first Birthday without my daddy and his absence along with my sister's was felt. You don't realize the small things that change when you lose a loved one. I think one in particular yesterday was when I read my Birthday card from my mom. I'm so use to seeing We Love You Mama and Daddy. Now it just says Mama. The little things like that is a reminder of the great loss we now have in our lives. I miss them both so much.

My Birthday next year is going to be so different because our sweet boy will be here to celebrate with me and I can't wait!
