Baylor's Pumpkin!

I let Baylor finger-pant his pumpkin yesterday afternoon and his little pumpkin turned out PERFECT! As soon as I put the paint on a plate for him he knew exactly what to do. Smart boy!! This was his first time playing with paint and I have a feeling we'll be doing it a lot more. He loved it.

Here are some pictures (not in the right order) of the "artist" in action:

Baylor's Pumpkin!

I told you... it's perfect!

Mama, please let me have more paint!

Of course he thought he needed to "try" it!

Pumpkin Carving!

We started another new tradition with Baylor on Wednesday evening, pumpkin carving. We were suppose to go over to my brother's house to carve with his family on Sunday night, but we stayed home since Baylor was still sick. He had a good time helping both Mama and Dada do the carving. Jonathan did most of it and I took most of the pictures. Enjoy!

Baylor and Hank looking on as Dada starts the carving!

Yep! That looks good!

Of course he had to "try" some of the pumpkin!

What is that thing?!

Off the Bottle!

I can't believe it's time for Baylor to give up his bottle. Well actually, Dr M just wanted him off it at 12 months. We beat our deadline! It has been so easy for our sweet baby. I wish I could say the same for his mama. Something about giving up the bottle makes me really sad. I guess I think of it as one of the last "baby things" he does/has. Silly, I know!

All we did to wean him off was to cut out a bottle a week. He only drinks three a day. We started with his lunch bottle, then his morning, and last night he had his last night bottle. It's sippy cups from here on out.

Here are some pictures I took last night while he enjoyed his last ba ba. I only took a few. Then of course I had to hold him while he finished it. These are taken outside while we did a little pumpkin carving. That's my next post!

Sweet baby!

He's STILL sick and you can tell from this picture.

I'm off the bottle!!

A Little Update!

We kicked off our week with a trip back to the Peds office, with Baylor. He's had diarrhea since last Thursday evening. I know, 5 days?! The first 3 days he had it he still ate, drank, and played like nothing was wrong. Then on Sunday woke up with not only diarrhea, but with a cough and runny nose. He was very fussy and clingy Sunday. He only wanted his Mama ( I'm OK with that). Then by noon on Monday he already had 5 dirty diapers. This was the most he had up to this point in one day. Obviously the pedialyte and bland diet we were doing weren't helping so we headed in to see Dr. M . Of course he confirmed our suspicions that he had a virus, he wasn't dehydrated which was our biggest concern, and said to continue what we were doing. We also found out our poor little guy's throat was really red and inflamed. He cultured his throat just to be safe it wasn't strep. No word today=good news!

I'm hoping we are on the uphill side of things now. Baylor has been such a trooper the last 6 days!

On to some happier news. Baylor has started saying Thank You, Duck, Waving with his hand and his arm, and blowing kisses! I sure do love this stage, but still wish our baby would slow down a little! We're getting closer and closer to his big First Birthday!!

Here are some updated pictures!

First Steps!!

Saturday afternoon Baylor took his first two steps!! Jonathan and I were on our bed with Baylor playing around when all of a sudden he stood straight up, and took off with two steps! It happened so fast and we were definitely not expecting it. Of course he hasn't done it since then. I'm sure he will get the courage up and try again soon!

Some pictures of the sweet baby the day he took his first two steps!!

Pumpkin Patch!

We ended a busy weekend with a trip to the Pumpkin Patch on Sunday afternoon. The three of us went with my mom, brother, Meribeth, and the boys. Baylor had a blast. He enjoyed everything: the corn boxes, petting zoo, tractors, wagons, hayride, the cow train/ride, hayride, and his favorite the bounce house area. I did all the bounce house things with Bay. They had a big slide, obstacle house, and bounce house. He loved all of them. We had so much fun, but this Mama was tired!

I took so many pictures. Here are just a few of our little pumpkin!

Mommy and Baylor riding the cow tractor ride! It was ROUGH!!

Alabama National Fair!

Baylor had his first trip to the fair last night!! Jonathan, Baylor, and I met my brother, Meribeth, and the boys out there. The weather was perfect and it wasn't crowded which made for a great night! Baylor wasn't big enough to ride anything even the carousel which we were hoping we could at least get on. Oh well, next year he will get to ride all or most of the kiddie rides. We stopped in and watched a little bit of the circus, the bear show, and played some games. Jonathan and I both won Baylor a goldfish. I named them Mickey and Minnie, but we sent them home with our nephews which added to their five! Baylor also won a light-up sword which we lost shortly after putting in our stroller. The fair is just one more think we love about the month of October. We look forward to making many more memories there in the years to come!

Ready for the fair!
